Pig Bath
This pig is enjoying its last bath.
A tradition still practiced in rural France, it is a family affair. The pig is fattened up and used to provide food all year round. In the winter it is killed and bled, then laid in the 'mey' bath to be cleaned. The carcass is then emptied and hung for a day. The next day it is butchered for ham, bacon, chops, etc.
An A4 giclee print.
